Carvin's cove, Striper, 10 plus pounds
They've even taken plaster casts of
very big cat tracks, although the F&G folks deny it.

Jaison, and eveybody else, I once lived in the Tyson's Corner area of Northern Virginia, and was for three years the Prez of the Neighborhood Association. A big PITA most of the time, but I did get the skinny on almost everything that happened in the neighborhood. Part of the neighborhood backed up to a power trail that was once a Southern railroad, and has been converted to a right-of-way for power and a walking trail.
My neighbor called me one night around 11 at night. He was the Chief Information Officer of a corporation in Tyson's that, at the time, held more capitol worth than any other corporation in the USA. On paper, he was worth over $5B. Now, that's large. He was a very sharp guy. I am convinced he had watched many episodes of Mutual of Omaha.
Anyhoo, he, his wife, and another corporate couple are having dinner in his dining room when they hear more than a noise. To them, it sounded like voices from Hell. They turned on the outside lights and went out on the deck only to observe a Cougar tearing apart a Raccoon. DINNER IS SERVED!
Of course, the men were enchanted and the women (remember this is NOVA!) were horrified. Since most people refused to hear their story objectively, they quit telling the tale. The State people declined to honor the event because they didn't want to frighten the citizens.
Nature never rests.
Sounds about right HH I used to live in springfield and did a job for the diamond brokers on route 7 in tysons and I know there were plenty of cover ups there..........
