It's always interesting to read what someone thinks is best. I wonder if BASS remembers that the northern and western states are included in bass fishing or if smallmouth, spots or Florida LMB exist? Some decent choices if you fish in the southern states. Not one mention of swim baits, spooks, drop shot, slip shot, spider jigs,1/2oz hair jigs, underspins, guess I'm doing things wrong....Think I will just keep on fishing my way.
Tom
Note; wonder if they remembered Amistad, CA delta or Clear lake pre spawn results?

It does say the list is for beginners to help them sort out the mess of choosing bait types. They mentioned Texas and Carolina rigged soft plastics, which I consider entry level basic techniques easy for a newbie to learn. Tom, you stick to what you are doing, fella. The rest of us will catch up to you someday, maybe around 2015. By then maybe we'll have some monster bass near us to try catching. Trouble is, a feller really needs to EXPERIENCE doing that to be able to DO it with any confidence. Most of us might never get the chance. I figure California voters will outlaw inland boats then fishing long before I get back out there. You've already lost vast expanses of offshore fishing places.

Can't even surf fish between point Conception, Santa Barbara to the Oregon border. It's not the resources are in trouble, it's the green people wanting the beaches and lakes to themselves. Green, like the color of money. These people are making a lot of green regulating everyone else. Keep in mind what starts in CA tends to spend to the rest of the country!
The C-rig is the same as split or slip shotting and perfect for the beginner or advanced bass fisherman. They had a lot of jigs listed and jigs are not for the entry level fisherman.

Jigs! Yeah, that's right! They needed some help putting that list together.

What ya'll needed was a lot of rednecks in California that wouldn't put up with that nonsense. Nobody would make a dime trying that in Arkansas. It would all be burned down or maybe bulldozed. When the big timber companies started clearcutting everything in sight and growing trees to be clearcut again in 5 years for pulp, there were thousands of fires set in plantations in protest every year. The companies backed off and let them grow, and now are getting away from even-aged management altogether. Lesson learned. Back then I was heavily involved in forest firefighting, and since then see Arkansas is passed over for abuse of outdoor sportsmen. Fishing and hunting is way too big a business here to see much California innovations, though PETA has come close to getting hunting and fishing stopped at the polls. None of the law enforcement here would enforce that anyway. They might dabble in it like they do over meth labs.
